What's new in Airtable: November 2021

Autumn is my absolute favorite time of year. The weather gets gloomy, and I finally get to put on all my cool coats and stomp around on leaf-strewn walks. But if you’ve been reading our blog lately, you’ll know that the leaves aren’t the only thing dropping this fall.

Calling all admins!

We’ve made some pretty significant changes to our Admin experience. It starts with a redesigned Admin Panel, which now allows you to view critical information easier. We’ve also added new security controls like Audit Log APIs, as well as new workplace share restrictions and the ability to create User Groups. Finally, we’re making large bases even more performant and adding new base-management settings.

Bulk editing field permissions

We’ve also added the ability to bulk edit field permissions. That means you can select specific fields and determine exactly who can edit said fields—from Editors to Creators, to nobody.

And coming soon: Conditional Logic

And finally, we’re cooking up a much-requested update for Automations: conditional logic. Soon, you’ll be able to add if/then parameters to your Airtable automations—like sending an email only if certain records are updated, or filtering base update notifications only to the teams they impact.
